Hotel Cédre & Spa - Beaune, France

I grew up in the USA Northwest’s version “Burgundy,” so visiting the real thing was on the top of my list. I knew it would feel like a home away from home. I wanted to taste the red and white, the varietals that have always been so close to my heart.

Arriving at the front door, you are greeted in the middle of a grand garden. Greenery overflowing. The heritage of Burgundy bursting at its seams.

A true Burgundian escape:

Hostellerie Cédre & Spa was right there in the middle of Beaune. In the midst of wine country and the small downtown shops and restaurants, this little oasis exists; quaint, lovely, and stunning.

The rooms were refreshing, modern, and classic all at the same time.

I love how they had stellar glassware in the rooms, ready for the bottles we brought home from dinner and wine tasting.

Speaking of wine tasting… oh, and dinner. We visited the restaurant at Cédre at the EXACT right time. Why? The restaurant had JUST received a Michelin star the week before. The chef and waitress were a couple, which was so fun for my friend Christina (as she is a server dating a chef back in Tennessee). We were able to celebrate with them, with the 5 course meal and a wonderful ambiance.

The staff was kind, engaging, and sweet. The breakfast was the best spread we had in all of France.

Christina received a full body massage and I got a facial at the spa. It was mysterious and relaxing. It was like an earthy cave. Very much my style!
