DeSoto - Savannah

There’s something magical about taking photos at places you stay.  When you experience something in person, you notice feelings, vibes, light, smells… but sometimes it doesn’t sink into your memory.  Not the way things do when you capture them.  When you snag a photo, you can keep revisiting that feeling and memory over and over again.

Savannah was a city that I want to revisit and remember time and time again.

In the HEART of Savannah

The DeSoto was not only the perfect place to capture our first family road trip… but it was nothing short of spectacular when it came to eats, service, wine, cocktail mixtures, personality, and class.  If I could dream up a town, a hotel, and an experience… honestly, this would be it.

It’s not often you match the decor.

I just happened to wear a matching dress to the enormous painting in the 1540 Room. If that isn’t a sign that you’re in the right place at the right time… I don’t know what is. There is gorgeous art through the entire hotel.

The DeSoto is supported by a dozen perfect “outside” amenities as well.  You get the view of the city in the hotel room, but that’s because it is so walkable.  You get amazing food at your fingertips, but… they are also soooo sweet when it comes to recommending other dining experiences.  As much as I wouldn’t recommend fine dining with toddlers, the staff was accommodating regardless of the baby tantrums and food throwing.  I wasn’t sure how a luxury stay would go with little babes, but, turns out the twins also have good taste.

I don’t talk about Dana’s perspective much with these stays, but holy cow, you know food is good when HE is impressed.  The steak was so spectacular that we literally were going around the town talking about it.  I’m still thinking about it just now and my mouth is drooling remembering through these photos.

The hotel has an amazing pool & even an intimate spa experience.  A great coffee shop.  Art.  Sculptures.  They’ve thought of it all.

We were able to attend the jazz festival which was also SO fun. That is a great weekend to go if you’re looking to travel!
