What’s the Atmosphere like?
If you know anything about us, we travel like a band of bafoons. No matter how many places we go and how “well traveled” we feel like we are… we end up getting into something with the babies. I was so impressed that Sobremesa (a gorgeous wine bar) was “down” with our little ones joining. They treated us so well and I couldn’t believe how much the babies enjoyed the various eats, oysters, and apps.
The feeling when you walk in.. magic! Earthy tones, subtle smells of fresh food, but instantly… a big wine list. A good wine list. Genius wines by the bottle.
The selection was literally everything you could want and more. Refreshing. Classic. New. Unheard of. Aged. Lovely. Handpicked.
Want an honest review? Here it is. Sobremesa felt like a passion project. It felt like a quaint, curated experience where someone (the owner? the chef? the host?) really, really cared about the whole thing from top to bottom. You could tell locals loved it, but it hadn’t gotten so popular that it was touristy. There wasn’t a line out the door, which means it is still a hole-in-the-wall and a special little find.
I appreciated that there was decent parking around the spot and it was easy to find. I loved the food. I LOVED the wine, more.
